The RMS has advised the Gazette more roadworks will start tonight near the South Windsor roundabout on Richmond-Blacktown Road.
Traffic flow will be affected on Richmond-Blacktown Road and Bennett Road at Londonderry as a dedicated left-turn lane into Bennett Road from Richmond-Blacktown Road westbound is installed, and the road widened to accommodate the change.
The stop line on Bennett Road will be moved to improve sight distance for drivers and a raised median will be installed on Bennett Road.
The dedicated turning lane will allow westbound through traffic to safely pass vehicles wanting to turn left from Richmond-Blacktown Road, reducing the risk of rear end crashes.
It will start tonight, Tuesday, May 26 and is expected to take until the end of September to complete, weather permitting.
There will be six nights of work between 8pm and 5am from tonight to Monday, June 1, excluding Saturday. Work will then be carried out between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays excluding public holidays.
An RMS consultation report in response to community feedback on the project is available at rms.nsw.gov.au.
Drainage work will also be carried out on Richmond-Blacktown Road at Windsor Downs from tonight between Northern Road and Llandilo Road.
The work includes clearing, repairing and relining drains to improve water run-off from the road.
Work will be carried out between 8pm and 5am from tonight, Tuesday, May 26 to the end of June, excluding public holidays.
The roadworks at the South Windsor roundabout and Northern Road turnoff is being carried out between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays until the end of November, with nightwork on the area starting tomorrow until mid-July.
