NOR-WEST Jets coach Chris Kyle has hailed young blood the reason the Jets got over the line against East Coast Eagles at the weekend.
Three players who had little to no senior grade experience stepped up for the Jets and impressed their coach in the 23 point win over the Eagles.
James Clarke and Nate Goldrick were playing only their second game of footy at the weekend, while Patrick Brenner played his first senior game for the club.
Kyle said Clarke in particular helped to swing the game in the Jets' favour.
"He was quite impressive and intimidated the opposition and brought a physical aspect to our game we sorely needed," he said.
"Nate Goldrick chipped in in the forward pocket and kicked a couple of goals, it was only his second game as well but he is very promising for the future.
"Patrick Brenner played on a guy with 20 years experience and he pretty much played on this guy all day and took him out of the game and swung the game in our favour."
Kyle said despite Ryan Johnston being sent off in the second-quarter, the Jets were able to reduce a 24 point deficit with 16 men on the field.
"Once we pegged that score back and we got another man on the field we knew we would get the win," he said.
The Jets will play University of Technology Sydney Bats at the weekend at Bensons Lane.
Kyle said he was not quite sure what to expect from the Bats.
"We are losing a lot of our army guys to the open day so we'll have our backs to the wall but it seems every time we have our backs to the wall we come out and play well," he said.
"The amount of talent we've had come from the defense force is ample but it is just a matter of hanging onto them."
