ROLLY Drewery and Phil Hunter will represent Windsor Golf Club at the New South Wales Regional Four Ball tournament in August.
The pair won the right to represent the club after a round of four-ball bestball on May 9, which they won on a countback.
Drewery said he was looking forward to the tournament, and was confident he would do the club proud.
‘‘I consider it a big deal and you get to represent your club against other clubs,’’ he said.
‘‘I qualified for the same tournament in 2007, which I won and then went on to finish third in the state.’’
Drewery, whose handicap is 17 (Hunter has a handicap of 22), said the pair were a bit nervous about their score, until they got to the clubhouse.
The pair started second last on the day, and soon realised they were the likely winners.
Drewery qualified with a different partner in 2007, and said going to the tournament, at the Macarthur Grange Country Club, with Hunter by his side would add an element of fun.
‘‘Phil and I have been mates for quite a while,’’ he said. ‘‘We often go away on social trips.
‘‘We have boys weekends away where we play golf and have a good time.’’
While the pair will aim to have a good time, they will take the competition seriously.
They have their sights set on qualifying for the state finals, which will be hosted at the Bonville International Golf Resort at Coffs Harbour.
It’s a course neither of them have played before.
