■ RICHMOND - Impressions of 8: Photographic Exhibition May 1-3, Murray Wing, Richmond School of Arts, 26 West Market St, Richmond Impressions of 8 is a collaborative exhibition of works by eight emerging artists. ■ RICHMOND - Art for Heart massive art exhibition at St Peter’s Church Hall up the western end of Windsor Street on Saturday, May 2 from 10am. More than 100 fabulous paintings by local artists have been donated to be sold to raise money for the Hawkesbury Heartstart defibrillator program. Don’t miss this one.
■ FREEMANS REACH - St Mark’s Anglican Church, Kurmond Road Freemans Reach, will hold its annual fete from 8.30am on Saturday, May 2. Items for purchase will include vegetables, cakes, plants, jams, preserves, books, bric-a-brac and a barbecue. Entertainment by Hawkesbury District Concert Band and the Hawkesbury Song Company.
■ RICHMOND - Richmond CWA is holding Mother’s Day stall/garage sale on Saturday, May 2 from 8am-12 noon in their rooms in West Market Street. Cakes, sweets, handicrafts plus homewares and second-hand furniture and goods.
■ RICHMOND - The Secret Garden is having an Autumn Fair and Giant Plant Sale on Saturday, May 2 from 9am -5pm. A range of entertainment with music, children’s activities, market stalls, tours and family fun. Children can meet pigs, chickens, ducks and other farmyard animals. ■ CASTLEREAGH - The Lakes Christian College is holding an Autumn Fair on Saturday, May 2 from 10am-2pm. Rides, family fun activities, food, stalls, campus tours. It’s on East Wilchard Road.
■ BILPIN - TomahROMA Autumn Food & Wine Festival, with the 21st International Back to Back Wool Challenge and Great Bilpin Apple Pie Bake-Off are all on Saturday, May 2. Lots of regional produce, local food, wine and crafts, beekeeping info, free guided walking tours, a raffle and auction of winning apple pies. Shearing starts 8am. Teams of spinners then attempt to spin the wool and knit a jumper in the shortest possible time. Music by the Blue Mabels. Kids’activities. Entry: Gold coin donation.
