Hawkesbury City’s FFA Cup sixth preliminary round match against Western NSW Mariners set down for tonight has been postponed.
The match will now be played next Wednesday night at David Bertenshaw Field, Bensons Lane.
The Hawks have been flying in the FFA Cup, reaching the sixth round after an impressive 2-0 win over Illawarra Premier League club Woonona FC.
The sixth round is the furthest Hawkesbury have gone in the nation-wide knockout competition.
A 7-0 thrashing of West Ryde Rovers and an extra-time victory over NPL 2 club St George preceded the Hawks’ win over Woonona in the fifth round.
While Hawkesbury’s cup run has been one to savour, their form in the State League has been disappointing.
Losses in their opening three games added to two wash outs sees Hawkesbury rooted to the foot of the table.
