Editor Matt Lawrence had his first experience with Richmond's Corella population on Friday afternoon as he made his way back to the Gazette office from Richmond Marketplace.
As he walked past the School of Arts building he felt a thud on the top of his bald head ... a falling spiky seed from one of the trees above.
It was one of hundreds of seeds (and other tree debris) a flock of pesky Corellas had brought to the ground.
As he watched the birds in action, he witnessed bird after bird unhinge the seeds and then watch as they made their descent to the road way.
They were obviously having a great time.
So much so that a new troop flew to join the original vandals. See video below.
With the new recruits, the previously clean street was quickly transformed into a complete mess. See video below.
Locals will no doubt be used to the sound of crunching seeds under their wheels, but I've got a feeling a few motorists may have been convinced they'd got themselves a flat. See video below.
We're not sure if birds actually laugh, or for that matter have a sense of humour, but Matt is convinced these blokes were having the time of their lives.
