GOLF
Most people don’t need much of an excuse to head out for a day of golf.
So it’s even better when there is a good cause to be helped.
The Hawkesbury Hospital Auxiliary will hold their 11th annual charity golf day at Windsor Golf Club on May 14 with the aim of raising more than $12,000 to purchase vital equipment for Hawkesbury District Hospital.
All money raised will go towards the purchase of two C60 Neonatal Monitors for the hospital’s maternity ward.
The day will be played in a four person Las Vegas Ambrose format with the group hoping to welcome more than the 98 players that took on the event last year.
Hawkesbury Hospital Auxiliary golf day organiser Pat Williams said she hoped people would again come out to support the cause.
“We ask the hospital for a wish list and they tell us what they want,” she said.
“As we raise the money we buy the stuff directly from the suppliers.
“The money never goes into the hospital. It goes straight to the purchasing of the equipment. We make over $100,000 every year for the hospital.
“It is something the hospital desperately needs. They are great for little babies. They have one but buying two at once is going to be a lot cheaper.”
Cost of the day is $70 per player which includes golf, a breakfast roll, lunch and a home cooked morning tea.
There are prizes for the winners, best nett, runners-up to nett, best scratch, consolation prizes, male, female and mixed teams, longest drives and nearest the pins.
Away from the golf course there will also be a charity auction and raffle.
