The likes have been tallied, but the winner of the Oscar for most popular social media post by an 87th Annual Academy Awards attendee might surprise you.
The Fault in Our Stars actor Ansel Elgort's pre-Oscars picture with his mother, who was his date for the evening, had received 729,000 likes and 13,600 comments at the time of writing.
 
To put that in perspective, Jennifer Lopez's selfie with Meryl Streep has amassed only 529,000 likes and 6360 comments.
Elgort, 20, was attending the awards to present the Oscar for Best Visual Effects alongside Hugo actress Chloe Grace Moretz. Elgort and Moretz will appear on screen together in November Criminals, which is scheduled for release in 2016.
The New Yorker has amassed a huge teenage fanbase after starring in the popular adaptation of John Green's book about a romance between two teenage cancer patients.
He is also in the cast of another teenage fiction adaptation, the Divergent film series, in which he plays the brother of the series' heroine Tris (who, in an odd twist, is played by his The Fault in Our Stars love interest Shailene Woodley).
Despite Elgort's popularity, no social media post managed to gain the traction of then-host Ellen Degeneres' "Oscars selfie" that broke Twitter during last year's ceremony. The star-studded selfie - which featured appearances from Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Meryl Streep - was retweeted more than 3 million times, temporarily crashing the social media site.
