RELATED CONTENT: Still no sign of missing swimmer
After two days searching the depths of the Hawkesbury River near Windsor, a man’s body has been located.
About 8.30am Sunday, police from Hawkesbury Local Area Command, other specialist police and members of the State Emergency Service located the body in the water.
The body was found north of the Windsor Bridge, just before the Windsor boat ramp.
While a formal identification is yet to be made, the body is believed to be that of a 21-year-old man from Quakers Hill who was reported missing from Windsor Beach about 4.15pm on Friday.
Friends of the 21-year-old man have told police they noticed him struggling in the water and attempted to assist him, however were unable to reach the man before he went under the water.
A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
