This Christmas is no different to any others for those at the Hawkesbury Salvation Army, Windsor, as they aim to once again help those who are less fortunate.
People are able to seek help by going into the church on any Tuesday and putting their names down so the Salvos can give them some help through their annual Christmas appeal.
Food, meat, toys and gift vouchers are among items needed.
Salvation Army spokeswoman Lesley Archer said those donating items should consider a gift for a teenager.
‘‘Teenagers really need a choice gift too,’’ Ms Archer said.
‘‘They can’t cuddle up to a teddy bear but would benefit from maybe a gift voucher for iTunes or Woolworths.
‘‘It becomes really important because they feel more heartache from the family than the children because they understand it more.’’
■ The Salvation Army is asking for donations of toys, gift cards and anything you would like to give this Christmas. The office is at 290 George Street, Windsor. Details: 45773889. You can also help your local Salvos by donating at Bunnings McGraths Hill and Rouse Hill.
