Puddles the reading river dragon will celebrate her first birthday this Friday, November 14, at Richmond Oval in Richmond Park, and children and their grown-ups are warmly invited to attend. Puddles says the more the merrier, so tell your friends.
This is a free event of the Paint Hawkesbury REaD program, with lots of fun activities, free morning tea for children, book prizes to be won, and Puddles making an appearance.
If it rains the party will be in the Richmond School of Arts next to the park on East Market Street.
Many children and adults will remember the magical red egg that came to the Hawkesbury a year ago. The egg went to the library and travelled around the childcare centres, where many Hawkesbury children read and sang to it to help it grow, until Puddles hatched.
She is on Facebook at REaDwith Puddles. Like her page for lots of reading tips. The party is 10am-noon.
