MARAYLYA resident Katrina Rosier and her 10-year-old Quarter Horse mare, Creamy, rode the five-day Weddin Mountain Muster to raise money for Riding for the Disabled’s Tall Timbers Centre at Box Hill.
The muster took place in the Weddin district around Grenfell last month and involved a group of around 120 riders.
The pair rode from around 8.30am-4pm each day, covering more than 120 kilometres in the five days.
They crossed terrain such as roads, single tracks through mountains, over private property and also along original stock routes.
Riders also took part in a festival-type parade through the centre of town where Ms Rosier and a group of other riders dressed themselves and their horses as hippies.
“This was my fifth muster and the Weddin district didn’t fail to produce amazing sights,’’ Ms Rosier said.
‘‘The colourful yellow of the canola fields was a sight to behold as were the lush meadows and hills we rode ton every day.’’
Ms Rosier, a volunteer at Riding for the Disabled, said it was an obvious choice to raise money for the organisation which helps disabled riders with their balance, co-ordination, heightening their senses and boosting their self-confidence.
