Floriade's NightFest never fails to ignite the senses with striking installations and light-filled flower beds but this year's after-dark soiree will shine a light on a more exploratory, interactive side.
Mandylights is behind the glowing spectacle for a fifth year which is set to transform the tulip-filled Commonwealth Park with more than just light.
Co-owner Daniel Mercer said music would return to the park with a number of striking new installations.
"I guess this year was all about trying to give people these sorts of little snippets of excitement as they move around the park," he said.
"Audio is an interesting way doing that; it makes every installation something people can interact with."
A dynamic soundtrack will guide revellers through the rhododendrons among 50 giant inflatable flowers in the Triffid Garden.
Stage 88 will taken on a similar look with more than 100 light-filled balloons enclosing performers on both sides of the arena.
"The idea is to get people to experience performances throughout the night - to drop in to see a performance rather than a sit in front of the stage scenario," he said.
The team hasn't shied away from the Embrace Passion theme either, with 50 mannequins towering over a family-themed garden bed.
NightFest will light up Commonwealth Park from Wednesday to Sunday from 6.30pm-10.30pm.
