More than 10,000 women across Australia will take part in a free online event as part of the Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week (September 1-5) to better focus on the importance of their mental and physical health.
The online event — ‘‘Self Confidence and Better Health’’ — aims to give women across the nation access to free advice from experts, video seminars and tools to build confidence.
The week will explore ways in which women can better understand where confidence comes from and how to develop it as well as find out what health checks are needed and understand the link between social connections and health.
Psychologist Mandy Deeks said the five days would allow women to focus on their health, learn more about their body and take action.
‘‘Each day will have a different focus and we will guide you in finding out how confidence affects your everyday life and health,’’ Dr Deeks said.
‘‘It’s important for women to believe in themselves and make the right decisions to help prevent illness and disease.
‘‘It’s a great platform for all women to engage and share their stories.’’
The successful event is founded by national non-profit organisation, Jean Hailes, which is dedicated to improving women’s health by providing information, resources and clinical care so that they can actively manage their health and wellbeing.
