CONGRATULATIONS
Canberra writer Lucy Nelson has been awarded the 2014 Templeberg Residential Writing Fellowship. The one-month fellowship will send her to Templeberg Villa in Galle, in the southern province of Sri Lanka, where she will work on an novel set in Sri Lanka about secrets that make slaves of their keepers.

At an ANU/Canberra Times Meet the Author event on August 27, at 6pm in the Law Theatre, Building 7, journalist Geraldine Doogue will discuss her book The Climb:Conversations with Australian Women in Power. She interviewed and profiled 14 women including Australia’s Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, Major General Simone Wilkie, Heather Ridout, Gai Waterhouse, James Cook Vice Chancellor Sandra Harding and Wendy McCarthy.
