Break-ins on increase

A spate of break-and-enters occurred in Northmead, Carlingford and Kellyville this week.

One robbery, in Anderson Road, Northmead, occurred between 12.30pm and 3.45pm on Wednesday.

Police said the thief or thieves forced the lock on the ground floor rear door.

They ransacked one room and took jewellery valued at $400.

Another forced entry occurred in Riveroak Street, Kellyville about 3.20pm, Saturday.

Police said a window was opened on the premises but, curiously, no property appeared to be missing.

However, witnesses said the house’s alarm was triggered about that time and they also spotted a red Honda Civic in the street.

Between 2.30pm, Tuesday and 7.30am, Wednesday, a garage was broken into and tools stolen, in Post Office Road, Carlingford.

Police said other garages were also broken into in Post Office Road and Shirley Street, Carlingford, on Monday.

They urged anyone with any information about these break-ins to contact Hills detectives on 9680 5399 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
