Scott Davis, 33, from Richmond, is walking from his home town to Lithgow in an effort to gather funds for homeless people and raise awareness about Homeless Persons’ Week.
He will be setting out at 5.30am on Friday and will take the Bells Line of Road route to Lithgow.
He hopes to complete the 162km round trip in four days.
All money raised will go to Hawkesbury’s Helping Hands – a charity that prepares and serves hot meals and food to the hungry and homeless of the Hawkesbury.
“I chose to support them because I work in Windsor and I got to see and speak to a few of the people who have to sleep out there,” Mr Davis said.
Donation tins have been set up at North Richmond Hotel, The Royal Hotel - Richmond, The Railway Hotel – Windsor, Kurrajong Cellars, Glossodia Chemist, and Little Red Hen Richmond.
Donations can also be made via direct deposit.
