Fatal car fire: Blacktown

Police are investigating the death of a man following a car fire at Blacktown this afternoon (July 11).

Police were called to Kieren Drive following reports of two cars on fire.

It is believed the cars were parked on the road when a fire broke out.

Officers from Fire & Rescue NSW attended the scene and extinguished the fire locating a man, believed to be aged in his 50s, deceased inside one of the vehicles.

A crime scene has been established and Kieren Drive closed between Watts Grove and Blattman Close while police conduct examinations of the scene.

The circumstances surrounding the fire are unknown and a post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of the man’s death. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
