Car break-ins in Hills area

Three thefts from motor vehicles took place within The Hills police local area command on Monday and Tuesday.

Golf clubs, worth $2500, were stolen from a silver Nissan parked in Pennant Parade, Carlingford between 5pm, Monday and 6.15am the next morning.

Police said the thief, or thieves, got to the clubs by smashing the car’s rear window.

A similar theft took place in Meridan Place, Bella Vista between 7.55pm and 9.15pm, Monday.

A laptop was taken from a parked Toyota utility after its rear window had been smashed.

Police are also investigating a theft which occurred in the Woolworths car park of the Rouse Hill Town Centre on Tuesday.

Between 3.30pm and 11.15pm, someone smashed the rear window of a Toyota Corolla sedan and stole a GPS, an ipod and a charger, worth about $400.

Police said there was no security footage available of this incident.

A police spokesman said the thefts demonstrated why people should not leave valuables inside their parked vehicles.
