ARE you a film lover? Do you like writing, acting out and filming your own scenarios?
If so, it is time to get your entry in for this year’s Made In The West film festival.
The annual event is encouraging students and filmmakers from across western Sydney to get involved.
This year’s prizes are being offered in three categories — Best in the West, Best Student Film and Audience Choice Award.
Co-founder of the event Ross Page said the festival first started two years ago as a way of offering residents who live in the western suburbs the chance to contribute to its unique arts culture.
“We know the talent is here,” he said, ‘‘The area is full of stories waiting to be told, and slowly they are.
‘‘Made In The West is about recognising these unique storytellers and giving them the space to showcase their work.”
Whether your entry is drama, documentary, music video, sci-fi or horror, the only rules are it has to be between three and seven minutes long, and be submitted by November 5.
Student entry is $25, general entry is $30. All funds go to the running of the event.
Finalists will have their films shown at a red carpet event at the Roxy Hotel, Parramatta on November 27 and will also receive exposure on TV channel 44.
