■Nursery Open Day: Blacktown households are eligible for two free plants each year. Collect 9am-noon from the council's nursery. Otherwise from Tuesday to Friday, 9am-3pm. Proof of residency is required. Details: end of Kent Street, Blacktown (enter through the showground).

■Rooty Hill and District Seniors Computing Club: Classes for beginners, advanced and internet. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Details: Margaret, 9864 6528.

■Whalan community action group classes: Mondays: furniture restoration, 9am, Heart Moves, 11.30am. Thursdays: woodworking, 9am, craft and laughs, 9am, kinda dance classes, 9.30am tai chi, noon. All sessions and classes $5 at former Whalan High School, M block, Mimica Avenue, Whalan.
