Robberies and vandal attack hit Castle Hill

Four break-and-enters on Wednesday and a vandalism incident this Thursday morning, all in Castle Hill, could be linked, police said.

Hills detectives are questioning a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, both from Castle Hill.

The youths were arrested after being seen near where a car and other property were damaged in the Castle Towers level 5 car park, between 1am and 4am this Thursday.

Police said their questions in relation to the break-ins on Wednesday are only inquiries and no charges have been laid.

Two of the break-ins took place in Old Northern Road about 4.40am.

One, in a wine bar, involved the theft of $1500 in cash and expensive bottle of alcohol.

The other break-in, at an Asian grocery store, resulted in cigarettes, drinks and make-up being stolen.

CCTV footage showed two young people wearing hoodies in the vicinity at the time.

A break-in also occurred in Crane Road, Castle Hill on Wednesday morning.

A ground floor garage was broken into and a $6000 Men’s Trek mountain bike was stolen.

Police said another garage in Crane Road was broken into at about the same time, but they have no reports of missing property yet.

Anyone with any information about any of these incidents is urged to contact The Hills police on 9680 5399 or Crime Stoppers on Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
