Money raised from a charity golf day has lead to the purchase of a life-saving defibrillator for Hawkesbury Hospital.
The golf day, which is held annually at Windsor Country Golf Club and run by the United Hospital Auxiliary Hawkesbury Branch volunteers, raised $10,500 for the purchase of the machine which is a welcome addition to the Hospital emergency department.
Hawkesbury District Health Service general manager Peter Blanchard sincerely thanked the volunteers for their substantial donation for a new and advanced defibrillator for the hospital.
‘‘When cardiac arrest occurs, the clock starts ticking,’’ Mr Blanchard said.
