Grace Knight and Bernie Lynch are thankful for loyalty of their fans over the past 30 years.

"People got married to our songs and now their children come to our shows, it's as exciting as it ever was," Lynch said.

The Eurogliders are inviting Blacktown residents to a trip down memory lane on August 2.

Formed by Lynch and Knight in 1980 as an indie pop band with Lynch on guitar and vocals, and Knight on vocals, Eurogliders toured to sell-out crowds in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, the US and Canada.

They are reuniting for a run of special shows this year and will be making a stop at the Blacktown Workers Club to sing hits such as Heaven (Must Be There), The City of Soul and Can't Wait to See You.

Knight didn't think twice about reuniting the band.

"I jumped at the chance of getting back onstage with Bernie and singing our old hits, plus a few newies," she said.

And Lynch added that while it's been a long time between gigs, the band never broke up.

"It always feels very comfortable up there on stage and we have played these songs so many times over the years that a break between shows allows the songs to breathe a little like wine," he said.

"Every time we put out a new album, we ask a lot of our fans — we ask them to travel along a path with us, to explore that path with us and to perhaps enjoy what they see."

Knight wants to see fans who spent their youth "bopping" at their gigs with their kids in tow.

"Hopefully, parents will take the opportunity to embarrass their offspring by dancing and singing loudly," she joked.

Eurogliders will perform at the Blacktown Workers Club on August 2. Tickets are on sale for $28 for members or $35 for visitors.
