Police raid ends Rooty Hill house siege

A siege in western Sydney has ended without serious incident after a man barricaded himself in a Rooty Hill home on Tuesday, May 27.

Traffic monitoring website Top Notch Video said police along with paramedics and firefighters were called to the home on Rupertswood Road at about 9am.

Police negotiators failed to persuade the man, aged in his 40s, to come out before tactical response group officers forced entry and sprayed what is  believed to have been tear gas to subdue him.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene and he was expected to be questioned by police.
