Oz Boy: Todd McKenney channels Peter Allen at Rooty Hill RSL this Friday.

Due to popular demand, The Boy from Oz is heading to the Rooty Hill RSL Club this Friday.

Following a sell-out season of Todd McKenney Sings Peter Allen there were so many requests for encore performances, McKenney had to say yes.

You'll laugh, you might cry but you'll certainly be entertained by one of our best-loved performers, a multi-talented star who first slipped on his dancing shoes at three.

But it wasn't until he landed the role of Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz 14 years ago that he found his true passion.

McKenney became a household name after taking on the role of Allen in the original 1998 production.

Now he's set to reprise that role with a bit of a twist.

He's the all-singing, all-dancing Aussie stage sensation with a wonderful acerbic wit and irreverent humour.

He's as fit as he's ever been and matches Allen's own amazing energy throughout the show.

This show is not just Allen's hits, McKenney also includes songs from some of his earlier musical theatre performances and you'll hear stories and anecdotes of Allen, as well as get all the goss from Dancing with the Stars.

■ Details: Friday, May 23, Rooty Hill RSL Club, Tivoli Showroom, 8pm. Cost: $55.
