RESIDENTS in the vicinity of North Richmond Bridge received notice today the RMS will begin its bridge field work from Monday, May 12.
Investigations will take place on North Richmond Bridge, and at the intersections of Bells Line of Road and Grose Vale Road; Yarramundi Lane and Old Kurrajong Road; and Kurrajong Road and Bosworth Street, as part of the Richmond Bridge and approaches congestion study.
The joint-funded project, between the state and federal government, plans to reduce traffic congestion, catering for both current and expected needs.
Work will be carried out between 8am-5pm Monday to Friday until late July, and include surveys of the road surface and surrounding landforms, as well as environmental investigations covering biodiversity, noise and geotechnical.
The majority of work will be carried out off the road using surveying equipment and other hand-held technical equipment.
In some locations there will be partial lane closures in place while work is carried out. Road users are asked to follow direction of traffic controllers, adhere to reduced speed limits and follow traffic signs.
