Meet Molly Godsell and Morgan Seward – schoolmates, best friends and top-line BMX riders.
The two St Monica’s Primary School students are in an elite BMX club in Australia after they were both selected for the national squads for the upcoming Mighty 11s on the June long weekend. The Mighty 11s pits the best 11-year-old Australian BMX riders against the best New Zealand riders in a teams event.
The teams of four race against each other four times and a points system determines the winner.
“Hopefully we will go very well,” Molly said.
“New Zealand will be tough but if I train as hard as I can I know I can do well, so I’m hoping for the best.”
Molly and Morgan are in the best four riders for their age in the country, a remarkable achievement from the two Hawkesbury riders.
Both are in heavy training as they each face-off against their toughest competition to date and at international level with Morgan believing the most dedicated team will win the event at Macarthur near Campbelltown.
“It will be hard to beat them, but we’ll get them if we train hard enough because we’ve got a strong team,” Morgan said.
