Elderly pedestrian hit twice crossing road

An elderly woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a motorbike while crossing the road in Baulkham Hills yesterday.

The 73-year-old woman was crossing Old Northern Road after getting off a bus about 7.40pm.

She was hit by a motorcycle travelling north.

The impact caused her to fall into the path of southbound traffic where she was clipped by a second vehicle.

Witnesses and other motorists helped her until paramedics arrived.

The woman was taken to Westmead Hospital with multiple fractures and remains in a critical condition.

Police are interviewing the motorcyclist and driver, as well as witnesses.
