Cherrybrook tennis player sees the world

If The Hills junior players need an insight into how hard work can take them into the wider tennis world, they need look no further than Jordan Thompson.

Cherrybrook's 19-year-old Thompson lost his Australian Open first round match in five sets in January, and travelled to France as part of the Australian Davis Cup team last month.

Now he's just travelled home to inspire youngsters at the Hills district association's annual finals day.

Christopher Salter won the most-improved-player boys' award and Tiana Perry the girls'.

Caterson tennis centre head coach Neil Smith received the Newcombe Medal for excellence.
