Hills police news in brief

A 20-year-old man from North Rocks was hospitalised after being knocked off his motorbike on Thursday.

Police said the man was riding his black Honda 250 motorcycle along Victoria Avenue, Castle Hill, about 4.50pm, when a 40-year-old woman from Castle Hill crossed his path.

A police spokesman said she was turning right into a business driveway when her Suzuki Vitara struck the bike.

‘‘The [motorbike] driver was ejected up and over and was unconscious at the scene,’’ he said.

‘‘He regained consciousness and was taken to Westmead Hospital where he remained in a stable condition.’’

The female driver was treated for shock and both vehicles were towed.

The Crash Investigation Unit was informed of the incident but did not attend.


Parked cars hit

Parking proved hazardous for three Hills car owners over the weekend.

A P1 driver hit two parked cars while driving along Eric Cooper Drive, Castle Hill, on Saturday.

A police spokesman said the 17-year-old male driver from Castle Hill was driving his white Mitsubishi Lancer at 50km/h when it ‘‘veered to the side of the road and hit a Nissan Pulsar, which was parked’’.

‘‘He then ricocheted into a parked white Mazda,’’ he said.

The Lancer and Pulsar were towed.

The Lancer driver received a ticket for negligent driving.

A female driver, 27, of Bella Vista, was also issued a ticket for negligent driving after hitting a parked Toyota Starlet on Bingara Crescent, Bella Vista on Sunday at about 1.30pm.

She told police she was looking at the GPS in her console.

Both drivers allege they were driving 50km/h.

Jewellery stolen

Jewellery worth $4000 was stolen from a home in West Pennant Hills on Friday.

Police said the incident occurred between 8pm and 11.55pm.

Entry to the Jade Place property was gained by forcing the lock of a back ground floor door.
