Memorial Avenue views sought

THE community is reminded to have a say on early plans to upgrade Memorial Avenue at Kellyville.

Baulkham Hills MP David Elliott said Roads and Maritime Services proposes to widen Memorial Avenue to a four-lane divided road between Old Windsor and Windsor roads.

"The upgrade aims to support significant growth in traffic expected in the area due to increased residential and commercial developments such as the Balmoral Road release area precinct," Mr Elliott said.

The 2.2-kilometre road will connect Old Windsor Road in the west with Windsor Road and access to Blacktown, Stanhope Gardens, Parklea, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill and Kellyville.

Safety would be improved for all road users with the installation of traffic lights, a central median to separate traffic and an off-road shared path for pedestrians and cyclists on both sides of Memorial Avenue.

The early proposal will be on display on the Roads and Maritime website for comment until Friday, January 31, and at the council's new office at 3 Columbia Court, Baulkham Hills, until January 31.

Written feedback is invited by January 31 to The Memorial Avenue Upgrade Project Team, Sydney Development Section, Roads and Maritime Services, PO Box 973, Parramatta. NSW 2124, or by email to

All written comments received will be considered in the environmental assessment and development of the proposal.
