Northmead takeaway store robbed

Police are appealing for information after a takeaway food store was robbed at Northmead on Sunday night. 

About 9.55pm a male entered a takeaway food store on Kleins Road, near the intersection of Briens Road, and produced a knife.

He jumped the front counter and removed a sum of money from the cash register.

The male was last seen running south along Kleins Road.

There were no reports of injury.

The male has been described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, 175cm tall and of thin build. He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt and blue shorts.

Home invasion at Greystanes

Police are investigating a home invasion at Greystanes on Sunday.About 9.30pm two men forced entry into a home on the Great Western Highway, armed with a knife.

They assaulted a male occupant and demanded his car keys.

Two female occupants tried to assist but one of the men threatened them with a knife.

The two men damaged the male occupant’s vehicle, before fleeing.

No property was stolen.

Police from Holroyd Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
