THE St Clair and Erskine Park school learning community is among 16 schools and a community of schools statewide acknowledged for their contributions to public education.

A Director-General’s School Achievement Award has been presented to the school community.

The community is made up of Banks, Blackwell, Clairgate, James Erskine and St Clair public schools, Erskine Park and St Clair High Schools.

It was acknowledged for Topsteps: Talent Opportunities for Talented Students project at St Clair and Erskine Park Schools.

About 315 students are involved in 21 workshops across seven schools.

“Topsteps is a program designed to enhance the active learning experiences and talent opportunities for students across the St Clair and Erskine Park school learning community,’’ the citation for the achievement award noted.

The Clairgate leadership team began the program to expose the talents of students and teachers in local schools.

The day involves high school-run workshops at the primary schools, which strengthens students’ transitions from primary school to high school.
