Bundaberg appeal day

HELP the Bundaberg community get back on its feet after the Queensland floods by supporting The Hills Shire Mayor's Care Fund.

In a letter to organisers, Bundaberg councillor Vince Habermann said many people in his community have "suffered terribly in this monumental natural disaster".

Hills mayor Michelle Byrne has invited Bundaberg mayor Mal Forman to send a family to a charity dinner and markets on Sunday, March 24 at Mother India, Middle Dural.

JC Travel Professionals will cover the cost of flying Major Peter Evans from the Salvation Army to and from Sydney.

Reverend Rhonda White from Wesley Uniting Church Castle Hill will provide his accommodation.

Organisers are calling on the community to donate raffle and auction items.

There are great items for auction including a bat signed by the Australian team and another signed by Ricky Ponting.

Sponsors include Castle Towers, the Australian Hotel and Brewery and Castle Hill RSL.

There will be market stalls from 10am to 4pm in front of the restaurant, followed by dinner at 7pm.

Enjoy a $29.90 buffet lunch from 11am to 3pm.

Entertainment will be provided by Angie Dean and Bollywood stars.
