More records, milestones for Grant Lambert

Grant Lambert just keeps setting records and achieving milestones.

The Marayong man set another record playing for Fairfield Liverpool against Penrith in the Sydney first-grade cricket competition.

Lambert played his 300th first grade game for the club.

The 35 year old has scored 11,142 runs averaging 38.22, and taken 622 wickets at 21.02.

The former NSW allrounder is only the second player to top 11,000 runs and take more than 500 wickets in the Sydney competition.

Lambert was the 67th capped player for Fairfield Liverpool and made his debut in the 1995-96 season.

Former Penrith player Ken Hall holds the first-grade record with 457 appearances.

Blacktown’s hopes of making the Sydney first-grade cricket finals have been virtually washed away with the rain.

The Warriors needed to beat top-four placed Randwick Petersham to stay in the race but there was no play at Joe McAleer on Saturday.

Even should they win a reduced limited-overs game if there is play this Saturday,  they would then have to beat Eastern Suburbs in the final-round one-dayer and have other results fall their way.
