Attempted abduction in Blacktown

Police are appealing for information following an attempted abduction in Blacktown yesterday.

About 6pm on Tuesday, February 19, a 21-year-old woman was walking along Rutland Street when a man stopped his vehicle next to her.

The man reportedly grabbed the woman around the waist and tried to force her into his car however, the woman managed to break free and run from the scene.

Police were alerted to the incident and conducted a number of inquiries in the area.

Investigators now wish to speak to a man who they believe may be able to offer information in relation to the incident.

The man is described only as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his early 30s, about 183cm tall and of slim build. 

It is believed he may be travelling in a silver or grey-coloured hatchback car.
