IT WAS a packed house at Richmond Club on Friday night when some of the Hawkesbury's rising stars on the boxing scene fought in front of more than 450 people.
John Barber's protoge Tammy Taylor made a cracking hometown debut in the ring when she beat undefeated Taree fighter Nerida Potter.
Taylor only fought her first NSW bout three weeks ago when she lost by two points in the final of the inaugural State Championships. She will now go through to fight in Canberra at the National Titles in December.
A good fight for Joel Brunker in his 11th professional bout was somewhat anti-climactic for the crowd when he knocked out Thailand's Mongkolchai Singmanasak in the first round.
Ryan Stinson however, provided more entertainment when he knocked out Mhelvin Hernandez in the fifth round.
Trainer John Barber said the event was an incredible success.
"It was a brilliant night and these events only keep getting better and better," he said.
"Everyone fought well and their opponents were well-matched so I was happy with their performances."
