HERE is what the new Windsor Station precinct will look like.
The carpark west of the station is taking shape, and should be finished by mid-August.
It will be followed by the construction of the new bus stop, and behind that, where the current carpark is, will be the taxi stand, kiss-and-drop zone and more disabled parking spots, which will be the final phase of the $8.2 million upgrade.
The work will be the third incarnation of the station.
The first station was built in the 1860s, but was superseded by the current building in 1883.
The original station building was moved and set up as a residence at 8 Mileham Street, near Monaghan's Mitre 10.
With "thousands more people using the train now" than when the old station was built, Riverstone MP John Aquilina said, it was time to bring the station precinct into the 21st Century, resulting in a much safer environment for passengers to access the station.
