FLASH flooding has hit the Londonderry region on the southern fringes of the Hawkesbury, forcing residents from their homes, with 11 people rescued by emergency crews.
The SES has already evacuated 38 people in the Londonderry area after 114mm of rain suddenly hit the Penrith region last night and in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
The SES say there were 22 homes affected as waters up to a metre deep inundated them.
Daybreak only added to the SES load, with 17 more calls for assistance after 6am, mainly from people finding water and damage that they could not see the previous night
There were 11 rescues on Thursday night and early Friday morning and another two after 6am
There have been no reported injuries at this stage, with the water already starting to recede.
SES crews also evacuated 150 prize greyhounds from a kennel as well as three goats.
Last night Nutt Road and Londonderry Road were underwater and were closed, with SES crews working to check damage and reopen them.
Other areas to be affected include Cranebrook, Castlereagh, Kingswood, Jamisontown and Werrington had been affected by flooding.
The Great Western Highway near O'Connell Street was also affected, they said.
Police and the NSW State Emergency Service advise residents not to enter floodwaters or cross flooded roads.
They've also recorded a landslip and flooding on Springwood Road at Hawkesbury Heights.
