Kurmond dad in fatal accident

22 Jul, 2009 03:35 PM
"MORE than just a man" is how Steven Gatt will be remembered by family and friends, who have paid tribute to the Kurmond resident's life.

The 37-year-old died in a motorcycle accident at Mt Wilson on Sunday which left a hole in the lives of those who knew him.

At the core of the pain are Steve's six children, Ashlee, 18, Bronwyn, 16, Nathan, 15, Raquel, 12, Josh, 8 and Cameron, 6, who must now come to terms with life without their father.

In a bitter twist the children were on a holiday with their mother at the time of the accident cruising around the Pacific Islands. They were notified of their father's death on Monday morning.

His smile could light up a room and his laugh (or giggle) was infectious. Thats how I will remember Steve whenever I think of him... A happy smiley guy with a very big heart of gold. XXX

To all of the Gatt and Smith family members...you are in our thoughts at this time. May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead. Know that an angel is now watching over you. xxx

Your children are your greatest legacy! Only the good die young, and I hope that your loved ones remember only the good times and that they support each other in their grief.
