The death of a teenager in a car accident at Wilberforce was the first in a string of accidents on NSW roads this week.
According to Windsor police, the 19-year-old Glossodia man was travelling north on Putty Road in the early hours of Monday morning when his vehicle crossed to the wrong side of the road and hit a tree.
A passing motorist noticed the wreckage and called emergency services at 3.30am.
The man was dead when police and ambulance paramedics arrived.
Putty Road was blocked off to vehicles between Kurmond Road and Creek Ridge Road with traffic diverted until the road was re-opened at 10am. Investigations are continuing.
Elsewhere in Sydney wet conditions on Sunday and Monday coupled with a number of car accidents led NSW Ambulance to issue a caution to drivers.
“Ambulance would like to remind the community that during wet weather, drivers should take extra care on the roads as these conditions result in reduced visibility, flooding and slippery road surfaces which make driving particularly hazardous,” an ambulance spokesperson said.
Paramedics responded to more than 100 motor vehicle crashes in Sydney alone on Sunday and Monday.
