It's the newest blues festival and one of the biggest events on this year's music calendar - and best of all it's being held right here in the Hawkesbury.
The first ever annual Sydney Blues Festival is just over one week away and there is a massive lineup of Australian blues acts ready to entertain.
Ticket holders will be travelling from as far afield as Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory for the four-day festival (October 22-25), which will see bands perform in various venues throughout historic Windsor.
The headlining acts include Backsliders; Legendary Australian Blues Band featuring ex-Midnight Oil member Rob Hirst; Brewster Brothers Trio featuring Rick and John Brewster previously with the Angels; Mal Eastick ? Australia's premier blues/rock guitarist; Foreday Riders who are Tamworth Golden Guitar Winners; Kevin Bennett and The Flood; Louis King and the Liars Klub, ARIA nominees from Melbourne; and, for their first-ever Australian tour, John the Revelator direct from Europe.
Proof of just how exciting this festival is, the band lineup has now grown from the previously advertised 40 bands to more than 50.
Performances will take place in 12 venues throughout Windsor, with absolutely something for everyone.
You can enjoy a lunch time blues cruise on the Hawkesbury Paddlewheeler, get outdoors and enjoy the music on the green at Windsor Bowling Club, relax and enjoy the sounds in a more intimate setting at one of Windsor's cafes or restaurants including Biviano's Italian Seafood Restaurant, Vault 146, Trentino's on George or the Sebel Resort and Spa ? not to mention the famous and historic licensed hotels dotted along the Festival way. People should book a table with their favourite restaurant or cafe for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner to avoid missing out.
Alternatively you might like to come along to the big band venue at Windsor Function Centre. A free venue for the whole community will be at Windsor Riverview Shopping Centre, where the school band competition will be held and Dr Don Hopkins and Rob Grosser will also be performing.
