FIRST it was Terri Munro, the Hawkesbury grandmother who won Channel Ten's Big Brother in 2008, then Dannial Gosper and wife Ash-Leigh Hunter who last year teamed up with celebrities on Channel Seven's, Dancing With The Stars. Now Phoebe Noble, 20, is taking part in the reality television phenomena, pulling out the measuring tape and joining the quest to become Australia's next Biggest Loser.
Ms Noble, a former student of Bede Polding College has been selected as a contestant for the 2010 series of Channel Ten's The Biggest Loser: Couples and will be appearing alongside her aunt.
Both can be seen in the current sneak peak for the series.
Similar to last year, 2010 Biggest Loser maps the tough, heart-wrenching journey of ten couples on their quest to lose weight and reclaim their health.
This year a nutrition and food preparation Masterclass (from MasterChef Australia) has also been included to provide the contestants with healthy eating habits, furthering the quest to reclaim their lives.
With obesity increasing at an alarming rate, there is concern for the rise of weight-related health issues.
"Obesity levels are at an all time high and this in turn leads to an increase in a range of chronic diseases such as type-2 diabetes." said former NSW Premier Morris Iemma.
The NSW Health Annual Report lists the Hawkesbury as the most overweight area in NSW with more than half of the population over the age of sixteen, overweight or obese.
The Biggest Loser 2010 premieres this Sunday, January 31 at 6.30pm on Channel 10.
